Okay, so putting up the carport put my herb garden in rain shadow, so now it has less herbs and more tough plants. Never mind.

Haha, Tarla, at least you have something green. And anyhow, aren’t some mediterranean herbs pretty tough?

Yes they are. I have some rosemary and garlic chives that are doing well, without any extra watering over the 6 month dry period. I have never liked watering, ever, and was less motivated than usual this past summer, which was extra long.
